Return to Work/ Vocational Rehabilitation
The average person spends one third of their life going to work, and with our life expectancy increasing, this is due to increase. This time is spent in providing for ourselves and families, and being able to save for when our working days are done. When a chronic illness or disability occurs, Occupational Therapists provide rehabilitation to enable you to continue to work in either your own role or alternative role (with or without reasonable accommodations) and assist in the coordination of your return to work. OTs receive referrals directly from clients, from referring healthcare professionals or from life insurers involved in the provision of income protection, temporary disability or permanent disability claims.
